Your three answers run through an open model of your state's actual rules. The result is what the model says a household like yours could get, shown by month and by year. It also shows where you land against the poverty line, since other cash and tax programs key off that.
What TANF offices also look at
Real TANF decisions include things this tool does not ask. Most states require work or job-search activity. Money in the bank can matter. Time limits apply — federal TANF caps most families at five years over a lifetime. And child support can interact with the amount.
