CalculateBenefits is an independent, privately owned information service that helps people understand U.S. assistance programs and find the official place to apply.

The site is operated by Ikan Media Inc., a U.S. digital publishing company. CalculateBenefits is not a government agency, is not endorsed by a government agency, and cannot access, submit, approve, deny, or expedite a benefits application.

What we publish

We organize information that is often scattered across federal, state, and local websites. The site includes:

• plain-language summaries of assistance programs and their official application routes;
• sourced payment amounts, eligibility thresholds, and verification dates;
• HUD income limits and Fair Market Rents by state and county;
• a directory of HUD-listed Public Housing Agencies with program and contact details; and
• estimators that show illustrative results, not eligibility decisions.

How we choose and check information

We start with the agency that administers the program or publishes the underlying dataset. Program facts link to primary government sources, and time-sensitive figures show when they were checked. We remove a figure when we cannot re-verify it within our freshness window rather than silently carrying it forward.

For office pages, we publish facts from HUD's PHA dataset and explain the limits of those fields. A reported unit total is not current availability. A PHAS designation is not a consumer rating. An agency listing does not mean its waiting list is open.
